Important Information for Your Patients.
When recommending Visbiome to patients, be sure to discuss the following as it applies to them.
Take Care While on Antibiotics.
Certain antibiotics may inactivate some strains of bacteria found in Visbiome. Advise your patients not to consume Visbiome within 4 hours before or after taking antibiotics.
Side Effects – Bloating
Side effects associated with Visbiome may include mild abdominal bloating, typically within the first few days of taking the probiotic. This is related to a physiological adaptation of the microflora and should diminish within 3-4 days. If bloating persists, reduce your patient’s intake for a few days.
Pregnancy and Lactation
Consult with patients who are pregnant or lactating before they consider using Visbiome or any other medical food product.
Lactose-Free
Visbiome and Visbiome Extra Strength are lactose-free. Lactose was not detectable in amounts greater than 50 parts per million (PPM). Visbiome may contain trace amounts dehydrated skim milk or milk protein (casein and beta-lacto globulin of less than 2mg/Kg). In summary, when using the most sensitive analytical method available, no lactose was found in Visbiome.
